Sharp pencils are on the top of my list of favorites. An obsession really. I have little pencil sharpeners all over the place and I finally broke down and bought an electric pencil sharpener... wow! Another one of my favorite things. It's surprising that a sharp pencil would be a favorite of mine. I remember the first day of third grade, sitting at our desks as the teacher passed out brand new notebooks and three number two pencils, and row by row we went up to the pencil sharpener. As I returned to my desk and sat down I didn't notice that the boy in the row next to me, who had already sharpened his pencil, had placed his  straight up on my seat. Well needless to say I spent the rest of the morning in the nurse's office with her trying to remove a piece of lead from my butt cheek. Not a great experience ...but a funny sharp pencil memory.
