Holiday Ornaments

Every year I make a special ornament for the holidays.
This year it felt particularly important to make something meaningful. Something that holds hope and balance and unity at a time when our country is really needing those reminders.
I use disposable pallet paper when I am in the flow of painting because I don't want to take the time to clean my glass pallet…
it's easier.
It also feels wasteful.
So I save every piece I mix my colors on…
piles and piles of it.
It makes me feel better to save it, and well…it's really beautiful.
This year I figured out how to reuse.
Each ornament is made up of collaged stacked stone shapes cut from my pallet paper, sealed with paint and wax and metallic details, signed and dated on the back, and all tied up with a velvet ribbon.
