I always loved dandelions. Don't all kids? I loved picking the biggest fluffiest ones and making wishes as I blew the star-shaped petals into the wind. I remember getting yelled at once at my grandparents' house; my grandfather said, "Don't do that, they're weeds, you're just going to create more." That didn't make sense to me, it sounded amazing! 
 
When my son turned ten, we were driving to school the morning of his birthday and passed a field of dandelion wishes. I pulled over and said, "Pick 10 and make 10 wishes." He was skeptical and worried about being late for school, but I assured him, "I got you. I'll take the blame." So that morning, we planted the seeds for many more wishes.
